As a Graduates joining the FNB Future League Graduate Program you are hired on a permanent basis. From day one, you are assigned to a business unit, team and a line manager. You have a role aligned with your specific degree and career interests, and get to work straight away. In order to help you to make the transition from University to a corporate environment, you will be exposed to various training and networking opportunities with senior managers as well as executives.This begins with a three week induction period in which you learn about the way FNB works and the everyday running’s, like the FNB Intranet, dress code, your payslip and medical aid. This is the time you get to network with your fellow graduates, your managers, HR and all the CEOs. Training is a mix of classroom and project experiences and specifically designed to enable new grads to thrive in FNB’s owner – manager culture. During induction, you will take part in the Service Channels Project. You’ll split into teams and engage with various FNB branches (their managers and staff), as well as visiting our contact centres and ATMs. This is the first time as a graduate that you’ll realise your work with us is taken extremely seriously, some of our previous Grads came up with eWallet and other innovative projects, so we’re always keen to hear what you have up your sleeve. The annual Graduate Projects are also done in groups. Each group must source a project that needs to come to life before November of your Grad year. You present it to stakeholders and customers of FNB and the Top 3 innovations are awarded prizes, which range from trips to Cape Town ; Sun City to name a few. After a year you are moved off the programme into a formal role in your business unit and your career officially takes flight.

  • From an academic perspective we hire graduates across the academic spectrum , though we focus specifically on degrees with quantitative elements such as maths, statistics, econometrics , actuarial science, engineering to name a few. In commerce we focus on degrees with financial and management accounting, as well as finance and law as subjects. All degrees in the technology sphere such as IT , computer science, informatics or information systems.
    Looking beyond the degree, those that go on to have successful careers at FNB, are good team players that can collaborate across business lines and functions, are curious to know more and have a bias for action. FNB’ers are obsessed with mastery - they learn by doing; and are always looking to find more ways of adding value through new and game-changing innovations.
